We began to think about this project after workshops in Reggio Emilia relating to their wn project ' A Festive Thought', about which you can read in their publiication here:

We found that the workshop excited participants - firstly from the International Reggio Network, and later on, our UK Network , in much debate about meaning-making, cultural meanings, different perspectives, the richness and diversity was fascinating, as was the level of fun and engagement as adults worked and later discussed.
We figured that this could be a very enlivening focus for the educators of centres in our network, and with their groups of children as they found new ways to work and provoke ideas, debate and expression.
